How to Reinstall WordPress in Hostinger?

If your WordPress site has issues or you want a fresh start, you can easily reinstall WordPress on Hostinger. Here’s how you can do it step by step:

Step 1: Log in to Hostinger

Step 2: Back Up Your Data (Optional but Recommended)

Before reinstalling, you should back up your website if you want to keep any files, databases, or content.

  • In hPanel, go to Files → Backups.
  • Download a copy of your website files and database to your local computer.

If you don’t need your current data and want a clean install, you can skip this step.

Step 3: Remove Existing WordPress Installation

To reinstall, you first need to remove the existing WordPress files and database.

  • In hPanel, go to File Manager or connect via FTP.
  • Navigate to the folder where WordPress is installed (usually public_html) and delete all files & folders inside.
  • Next, go to Databases → MySQL Databases and delete the current database linked to your WordPress site.

Step 4: Install WordPress Again

Hostinger provides an Auto Installer that makes installing WordPress very easy.
Here’s how:

  • In hPanel, scroll down to the Website → Auto Installer section.
  • Click on WordPress.
  • Fill in the required details:
    • Website title
    • Admin username, password & email
    • Choose the domain name where you want to install WordPress.
    • (Optional) Choose the language & install plugins/themes if offered.
  • Click Install and wait for a few minutes.
  • Once the installation is done, you will see a success message with your WordPress login URL (usually yourdomain.com/wp-admin).

Step 5: Access Your New WordPress Site

  • Visit your domain name and check if the fresh WordPress site is live.
  • Log in to your admin panel using the credentials you just set up.

📌 Notes:

  • If you have multiple domains/subdomains, make sure you select the right one during installation.
  • The Auto Installer takes care of creating a new database for you, so you don’t have to do it manually.
  • If you prefer, you can also upload the latest WordPress files manually from wordpress.org and create the database yourself, but the Auto Installer is much faster and easier.
